FINNISH INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 (FIJC)

CATEGORIES AND AGE GROUPS
The championship will be played in four different categories:
Boys U16 born 2000 – 2001
Girls U16 born 2000 – 2001
Boys U14 born 2002 – 2006
Girls U14 born 2002 – 2006
Finnish national junior championship for same categories will be played simultaneously. The championship also hosts a team competition for national and club teams. A team must consist of three or four players, all in different categories.
FORMAT OF PLAY
The championship will be played over 54 holes during three consecutive days in each category. There is no cut.
In the event of a tie the winner will be decided by a stroke play play-off between the competitors concerned. Play-off is played hole by hole until there is a winner. Play-off holes are determined by the Championship Committee. Other tied results will be decided by the last 36 holes, 18 holes, 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes, 1 hole and ballot. This applies to all categories.
The team competition will be played over 54 holes. Three best scores from each round will be counted to the team score. In the event of a tie the results will be decided by the total team score for the last 36 holes, 18 holes, 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes, 1 hole and ballot.
The championship is open for all amateur players who are members of an acknowledged golf club and eligible as stated in the conditions for FIJC. To be eligible to participate all entrants must fulfil the following handicap criteria:
Boys 14,0 or under
Girls 18,0 or under
The number of competitors is limited to 156 players. Competitors will be selected in the following order:
- Finnish Golf Union, national selection 102
- International players 54
a) National Invitations
National teams/players entered through federations
in the order of time of entry
b) Individual entrants
by handicap ballot
There will be a reserve list for each category that is based in the order of handicaps. The reserve list will be used in case of cancellations.
ENTRIES FOR INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS
Entries for both teams and individuals must be done through the official tournament website, www.fijc.fi by choosing TEAM ENTRIES or INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES. Players entered as team members don’t have to enter as individuals. Other forms of entry will not be accepted.
The registration opens on Wednesday April 13th and the closing date for entries is Tuesday May 31st.
– Late entries are not eligible.
– All international entrants, if not entered through their federation, must send a handicap certificate to firstname.lastname@example.org before the closing date, Tuesday May 31st. This certificate must be undersigned by the player’s home club or the national golf authority.
ENTRY FEE FOR INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS
The entry fee is 100 € (euro) per player. There is no additional entry fee for the team competition. The entry fee must be paid at the time of entry.
Included in the entry fee:
– Tournament fee for both individual and team competitions.
– Free use of practice facilities attached to the Cooke course
– Lunch – served at the Clubhouse during tournament days (Wednesday – Friday)
– Airport Shuttle (must be notified when entering the tournament)
All teams are recommended to send an accompanying team captain or an adult. (Team definition, see: Categories and age groups)
The competitors are entitled to free practice rounds on Monday June 27th and Tuesday June 28th. The booking of practice round tee times must be done via Vierumäki caddiemaster. (email@example.com)

IMPORTANT: All participants are fully responsible for arranging and paying for their own accommodation. Payment methods are due to Vierumäki resort normal proceedings.
The winners will be presented with trophies and three best players in each category will be awarded with a championship medal. Other prizes will be given in accordance to the amateur rules.
The competition will be played according to the Rules of Golf defined by the R&A Rules Limited. The local rules will be handed to all players and posted accordingly.
An information package will be sent out to all federations and individual entrants after the closing date of entries. This package includes more detailed information about practical arrangements, schedules, facilities etc. Tournament information can also be found on the tournament website at www.fijc.fi starting April 13th 2016.
